Nancy O'Dell's initial job in the broadcast industry was as a reporter/anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she worked at WCBD as an anchor in the morning and a crime reporter. In Charleston O'Dell's stories on the lenient police approach to DUI cases led to the launch of a State Law Enforcement Division investigation which resulted in the state authorities re-issuing an even more strict directive on the situations. It was reported that the Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with the Best Report of the Years Award in all South Carolina Media. O'Dell has worked at Charleston reporting and co-anchor at NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV station prior to moving over to Access Hollywood where she is now a correspondent and co-anchor during weekends. The present role of O'Dell as host for Access Hollywood is complemented by her work on NBC News Today, Dateline NBC and NBC News.
